Toddlers are busy at work everyday, developing new skills like coordination, focus and fine motor control.
Activities for toddlers are best kept simple and straightforward. Once they’ve mastered basic tasks, you can add more steps!
The push pin activity shown in the video is a perfect example. Take a few push pins, golf tees or toothpicks and let your child press them into a sponge or other porous material.
They will be honing fine motor skills by using their thumb and pointer finger in unison to manipulate the push pins.
Your toddler might do this activity over and over again, and that’s ok! To keep their interest, change up the color of the pins or the sponge.
