It’s almost Christmas, so it’s fun to get in the festive spirit with some family activities!
Amongst the Christmas activities for kids, baking is certainly the most common and appreciated. Think fragrant gingerbread, crumbly mince pies and buttery shortbread biscuits.
We want to gift you with a unique recipe that will enrich your Christmas baking repertoire and pique the interest of your little helpers: Santa Hats Brownies by My Little Sous-Chef
Simply, these are little brownies cut in circles, topped with some fresh whipped cream, a strawberry and little more whipped cream to simulate Santa’s fur trimmed red hat.
This recipe includes plenty of activities for little hands:
- Your kids can add all the ingredients in the bowl and then mix them to create a smooth and delicious batter
- Once the brownie is cooked, let them cut it in smaller bits and assemble the santa hat (strawberry) on top of them
- If they are proficient enough, you can let them whip the cream in a big bowl and watch the texture magically get creamier and creamier
If you are still unsure, here are a few more reasons why you’ll love this recipe:
They are super easy to make. In fact, they are so easy that if you feel like cheating, you can just buy pre-mixed brownies and spray whipped cream and enjoy the assembling and decorating bits.
On top of yummy, they are also healthy. The strawberry adds not only color and freshness but also vitamin C, which are always useful for you and the little ones, especially during the cold months.
You will make a brilliant impression at Christmas gatherings. These delightful treats are real crowd pleasers: they are bite-sized, chocolate-y, inventive and pretty. They have it all!
You can download the recipe here. It comes in two versions, as per the My Little Sous-Chef format: one full version for the adults and one only for kids, with only the simplest passages illustrated, so that your little helpers can follow along on their own recipe card.
So wash your hands, don your apron and get in the kitchen for a festive time.
