I know that you feel that you have no time to cook dinner, let alone fix healthy school lunches everyday. Who has time? We have to work, drive to and from school, after-school activities, check homework and do house work. It’s true that there are some things we don’t have control over. Let me put it another way; we are born with genetics that we can not change, we are exposed to environments and conditions that we have no control over BUT we do have control of what we put in our mouths.

Why is eating healthy an urgent matter? Because our kids have started to develop adult disease like heart disease, adult diabetes and even colon cancer, diseases that are all related to the food that we have fed them.

To think in different terms, would you put poor quality gas in your car? I do not think so. So why would you eat and feed your kids poor quality food?

Don’t panic! This great adventure of healthy eating will be easy and fun, especially if we get everyone involved. Of course, it’s necessary to lead by example. You cannot eat a bag of potato chips while telling your son to eat healthy. You cannot tell your daughter to stop eating junk if you do not stop stacking your pantry with junk food. But ok, moving on.

Our children are not born with a love for processed factory made food, or a thirst for bottled sugar-filled soda. We are the ones who have the role and responsibility to introduce and teach them healthy eating habits. Believe me, they will thank you and appreciate these early lessons later in life.

Trust me, I love food! I enjoy buying groceries, cooking, and enjoying every last bite. But what I love most is knowing my family is eating healthy.

We do not expect you to change habits overnight, but in this series, we will work with you step by step in order for you to take fantastic delicious steps into a healthier life for you and your children.
