“Children want to reach out and touch the world in any capacity that’s given to them.”
Ms. Wood describes the natural curiosity that children are born with, and provides a few tips for ways to support this curiosity!
- Take time, whenever possible, to encourage curiosity.
- As the seasons change, take a walk around the block to see what’s new in nature.
- Ask wondering questions that you might or might not know the answers to.
- If you don’t know the answer, find it together with your child! Ask a resource or head to the library to find out.
Curiosity can be fostered, and the four ideas above are just the start. How do you support your child’s natural curiosity?
